The Linux Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of our Linux server environment. This includes installation, configuration, troubleshooting, security hardening, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and scripting, as well as experience with automation tools and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, primarily RHEL.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.

• Monitor system performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Implement and maintain security hardening measures to protect against vulnerabilities.

• Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely support to application administrators and end-users.

• Configure and deploy monthly patches through Red Hat Satellite.

• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

• Deploy and manage applications and services on Linux servers.

• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth operation of the infrastructure.

• Maintain accurate documentation of systems and procedures.

• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and security best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience as a Linux Administrator (minimum 5 years).

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu).

• Proficiency in command-line interface and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

• Knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

• Experience with virtual (VMware) and physical systems.

• Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Solarwinds).

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (particularly Azure) is a plus.

• Experience with an enterprise scheduling tool is a plus.

• Familiarity with security best practices and hardening techniques.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
