The Linux Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of our Linux server environment. This includes installation, configuration, troubleshooting, security hardening, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and scripting, as well as experience with automation tools and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, primarily RHEL.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.

Monitor system performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Implement and maintain security hardening measures to protect against vulnerabilities.

Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely support to application administrators and end-users.

Configure and deploy monthly patches through Red Hat Satellite.

Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

Deploy and manage applications and services on Linux servers.

Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth operation of the infrastructure.

Maintain accurate documentation of systems and procedures.

Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and security best practices.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Proven experience as a Linux Administrator (minimum 5 years).

Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu).

Proficiency in command-line interface and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

Knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

Experience with virtual (VMware) and physical systems.

Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Solarwinds).
-
Knowledge of cloud platforms (particularly Azure) is a plus.

Experience with an enterprise scheduling tool is a plus.

Familiarity with security best practices and hardening techniques.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
