The Opportunity:


Gynger is seeking an experienced Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own and build our lifecycle marketing efforts from the ground up. In this role, you will design and execute data-driven strategies to engage, retain, and upsell our customers while driving key metrics such as loan usage rates, customer retention, and lifetime value. This position offers the opportunity to shape the customer journey, develop impactful multi-channel campaigns, and optimize performance through actionable insights and personalized marketing initiatives.


This is an exciting opportunity to be the first dedicated lifecycle marketing hire at a high growth, category creating startup. In this role you play a key role in shaping and enhancing the marketing function, contributing to the continued growth and success of the company. You will be based out of our NYC offices and will report directly to the Director of Marketing.

In this role you will...

  • Own the following:
  • Lifecycle Marketing Overview

  • Build out and own Gynger’s lifecycle marketing motion.
  • Develop and execute lifecycle marketing workflows and strategies to engage, retain, and upsell customers and increase usage rates.
  • Build on Gynger’s understanding of our customer journey, identify key touchpoints, and design targeted campaigns for each stage.
  • Campaign Management

  • Plan, execute, and manage multi-channel campaigns, leveraging data to understand how each channel - including email, SMS, social media, Slack, and website (in-app messaging, pop-ups, blog) - complements and amplifies the others for maximum impact.
  • Create and manage personalized, data-driven content tailored to Gynger’s customer segments delivering the right message at the right time via the right channel.
  • Test, iterate, and optimize campaigns to increase customer satisfaction, engagement, activation, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze customer data to understand and report on segmentation nuances, customer behavior, and trends.
  • Track campaign performance and generate actionable insights to support the optimization of Gynger’s lifecycle marketing motion that will ultimately help Gynger retain and engage more customers, re-engage old customers, and turn existing customers into brand loyalists.
  • Develop KPI-driven strategies, content, and campaigns.
  • Drive loan usage rates, renewal rates, engagement rates, and increasing member lifetime value through creative, messaging, targeting, and personalization strategies.
  • Retention & Loyalty Programs

  • Design and manage customer retention initiatives.
  • Monitor churn rates and implement strategies to reduce attrition and build a sticker programmatic experience.
  • Manage and improve customer referral programs.
  • Internal

  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to support, manage, and improve the customer lifecycle journey.
  • Support additional marketing team functions as needed.

You have...

  • 4+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, customer retention, or a related role, ideally from B2C SaaS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency building and maintaining lifecycle marketing infrastructures in a CRM (ideally Hubspot) and other marketing automation platforms (like Braze, Customer.io and/or Marketo).
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies and Google Analytics and/or other analytical tools/platforms.
