This role will be based in our Washington, D.C. office, on an in-office basis. This role reports to the Shareholder and Associate.
Position Summary
The Legislative Assistant will provide essential research, administrative, and scheduling support to a fast-paced and busy team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed. Schedule hours: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
The Legislative Assistant will play a key role in supporting team members and clients through a variety of tasks, including:
- Conduct in-depth research on legislative issues, bills, and policy proposals.
- Track the progress of legislation, committee hearings, and other activities, providing updates, summaries, and detailed memos.
- Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to achieve legislative policy goals.
- Manage attorney/director workloads by screening/reviewing emails, phone calls, and correspondence.
- Coordinate and schedule internal/external meetings, prepare meeting materials, and draft agendas.
- Handle time entry, travel arrangements, reimbursement processing, filing, and document production.
- Serve as a key administrative contact for clients, business colleagues, and public officials.
- Assist in managing client relationships and organizing client-focused events, meetings, and fundraisers.
- Draft memos, letters, and emails with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Coordinate business development initiatives with the marketing department.
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters.
- Support the team in researching various issues and tasks as needed.

Education & Prior Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience, including on Capitol Hill or within the federal government.
- Knowledge of the legislative process and relevant lobbying resources.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required and familiarity with specialized legislative software.
The expected pay range for this position is:
29.74 to 31.79 per hour
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
