JOB DESCRIPTIONAs our next Legal Specialist, you will provide legal support to company´s business in Latin America markets, critical growth markets for Levi Strauss & Co. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic part of the company that is designing and producing products for distribution through company operated and franchised stores, ecommerce channels, and wholesale distribution channels. Brands include the timeless and stylish Levi’s® and Dockers® brands, as well as the Denizen® brand serving the value segment.
- Agreements (40%): Draft and/or review indirect procurement agreements and NDAs.
- Managing litigation and procedures (30%): Experience dealing with consumer protection, labor and prosecution authorities is highly desirable.
- HR Legal (25%): Work with local HR team to support employment law matters, including REPSE compliance, collaborating with HR to prevent and manage labor related litigation, provide support in employee terminations.
- Data privacy (5%): Support the Global Data Privacy team ensuring compliance in the LATAM markets.
Key Relationships: It will be important for this role to engage closely with other members of both the local LATAM teams as well as the Greater Legal Team.Travel: Occasional travel within Grand Latam.EDUCATION: Law degree (LLB)EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3+ years of experience practicing law with leading law firm or in-house. Ideal candidate has experience with in-house legal department of multi-national company.Functional Competencies:
- Legal Skills: Strong understanding of legal concepts and how to apply to real-world situations. Excellent drafting skills, able to draft simple or complex legal documentation as needed. Able to learn new areas of the law and apply to company’s business.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communications skills. Able to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, including to executives, junior staff and external stakeholders.
- Solutions Oriented: Able to think critically about key business drivers and risk factors. Able to develop practical solutions to achieve business objectives within acceptable risk parameters.
- Collaboration: Able to work as part of cross-functional teams and establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders on the LATAM business team and in the company’s regional and global offices.
Industry Requirements: Industry specific experience not required.Individual Requirements:
- Excellent English and Spanish (written and oral).
- Strong interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively work with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
