Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Legal Counsel to join our team in the Gold Coast, Queensland. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to all areas of the business with a focus on property, strata and business operations reporting to the Legal Director for Realty and Asset Management. This position provides astute legal advice with a focus on management rights, real estate and regulatory compliance within the managed letting rights industry.
This role will be based in Accor’s Gold Coast office.
Getting to know the role and your responsibilities
- Providing legal advice and support to all areas of the business with a particular focus on the strata, realty, leasing, asset management and compliance teams.
- Preparing, reviewing, negotiating and drafting amendments to management rights agreements, managed investment scheme documentation, leases, licenses and contracts.
- Assisting with disputes and litigation.
- Preparation of standard form agreements, precedents and policies for all areas of the business.
- Provide ongoing in-house legal compliance training and information updates to the business.
- Providing assistance and guidance to other lawyers and paralegals as and when required.
- Working with the legal team on project work, training programs and other matters as and when required.
- Assisting to establish and maintain new and effective processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law.
- Practicing certificate.
- 5 - 7 years PQE.
- Prior experience in property or strata law required.
- Experience in management letting rights or funds managed would be highly regarded.
- Experience in a top tier or mid-tier law firm would be highly regarded.
- The candidate must be keen to learn and develop skills in a variety of legal areas impacting the business.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- An ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- A relevant tertiary qualification with current practicing certificate for Queensland or ability to practice in Queensland.
