The Role
As a Lead Strategist, you will develop effective email marketing strategies, analyze customer data, present insights, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to enhance marketing efforts within the travel and financial services domains.
Summary Generated by Built In

Passionate about travel and premium brand experiences and have experience with the financial services industry? No stranger to all things email marketing? Also a little (read: a lot) nerdy about how data can be used to personalize customer experiences? You could be the seasoned Lead Strategist that we’re searching for.

In this role, you’ll be our clients’ trusted consultant, their thought leader, and their strategic partner in email personalization. You will be responsible for insightful reporting, and collaborating with data engineers, designers, and writers to identify opportunities that drive business results. You will be responsible for measuring and understanding the impact of our client’s email marketing strategies – this will include data visualization, reporting, and insight generation in order to present strategic content recommendations. Though we have a work-from-almost-anywhere framework, this role works east coast hours.

You’ll be reporting directly to our Senior Director of Data & Insights.

Responsibilities

  • Create quantifiable, measurable content strategies for our clients’ email marketing programs that drive conversions. Recommend key data points and measurement methodologies to show the impact of our marketing approach and strategy on the client’s business.
  • Easily leverage dashboards and raw excel files to interpret data. Generate and communicate clear, compelling, and actionable insights.
  • Ensure that the marketing recommendations we deliver are based on a deep understanding of the client’s business and strategic objectives, and that client value is delivered through a mix of best-practices, creativity, and original thinking.
  • Lead and present at client meetings. Get others to believe in the ideas that you present and help guide your design and copywriting counterparts to see the strategy through to execution.
  • Be a subject matter expert on email marketing trends and best practices.
  • Identify business growth opportunities and develop strategic recommendations to support the growth of client relationships.
  • Ensure that analyses are delivered to clients error-free and in a timely manner.
  • Share best practices with clients and your colleagues.
  • Collaborate with and proactively respond to requests from clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to identify new ways of looking at vast amounts of our clients’ customer data in order to answer business questions and develop insights.

 Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years experience in email marketing at an agency, Fortune 500 company, or consultancy, especially within the travel or financial services industry.
  • Deep passion, curiosity, and understanding with regard to data analysis and a strong business sense.
  • Self-starter, problem solver. Resourceful and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Able to identify quantifiable trends across campaign data, as well as develop testing plans.
  • Comfortable abstracting insights from large data sets and using dashboards (Tableau, AWS) to make engaging, customer-first content recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of email and digital marketing metrics.
  • Experience working with household brand names in travel or financial services preferred.
  • A highly detail-focused and organized mindset.
  • Ability to “manage up,” influence and work within a matrixed environment.
  • Executive presence; strong written and oral communication, with experience developing executive-ready, high-quality deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with email platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) preferred but not required.
