About the Team: The Public Relations Lead is an essential role within the SSENSE Communications team, helping to drive the company's brand narrative to a global audience. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, this creative strategist spearheads the development and execution of impactful PR programs. With a focus on building brand awareness and cultivating passionate brand advocates, the PR Lead amplifies the SSENSE POV and voice across a mix of media channels and platforms, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of fashion and culture.

  • Building and nurturing relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across lifestyle, beauty, business, technology, and trade publications across Canada, the USA, EU and Japan while collaborating with external agencies to extend reach and expertise
  • Collaborating with marketing and creative teams to plan and create an editorial press calendar
  • Planning and executing product launches, press conferences, and other events including managing guest lists, overseeing the event logistics and post event coverage
  • Maintaining annual PR budget, partnering to ensure that the team lands within budget for year end and provide internal teams with PR support and counsel as needed
  • Writing, developing and distributing press materials including press releases, media alerts, pitches, and resources like lookbooks, fact sheets, bios, and media kits
  • Develop and execute impactful PR campaigns, aligned with company and department goals, by ideating compelling story ideas and proactive pitches to relevant media outlets

Qualifications

 How To Excel In This Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications or Public Relations
  • A minimum of 5 years of PR experience working with global brands and a proven track record of securing quality coverage. Agency experience is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the global media landscape, with established contacts in both print and digital media
  • Proven experience working in fashion and luxury, e-commerce; experience in multi-brand retail and technology is preferred
  • Proficient in Google suite and experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign an asset
