How will you contribute to the team?
- The project coordinator is responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day administrative tasks of a project, including maintaining schedules, tracking budgets, facilitating communication between team members, and ensuring project deliverables are met on time, all while reporting progress to the project director and stakeholders; essentially acting as the central point of contact to keep a project running smoothly and on track.
- The project coordinator will coordinate the schedule, budget, issues and risks of the project. It’s their job to ensure the project management framework is well-organized and that it runs smoothly. This includes communicating with various departments in the organization to make sure everyone is on the same page.
- Key responsibilities of a project coordinator:
- Be the liaison between the project team and project clients throughout the project life cycle. Meeting with project clients to assess their needs and define project requirements, acceptance criteria and project timelines.
- Assist the Project Director in the development of project management documents such as project budgets, project schedules, scope statements and project plans. Execute project management administrative and bookkeeping tasks such as managing invoices, purchase orders and inventory reports, among other financial documents.
- Foster cross-team collaboration to help project team members complete project tasks and produce deliverables. Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has what’s needed at the right time. Assist in assigning tasks to team members and ensuring they have the necessary resources.
- Supervise the projects procurement processes. Assist in creation of scopes of work and define deliverables for contract documents.
- Assign tasks to team members and help them understand what’s expected from them in terms of project milestones and deliverables. Monitor project progress and team members’ performance and provide updates to project stakeholders.
- Communication facilitation: Coordinate meetings, distribute project updates, and manage communication between team members and stakeholders. Schedule stakeholder meetings, document and generate reports. Reporting: Prepare regular project status reports for stakeholders and management.
- Documentation management: Maintain project documentation including reports, meeting minutes, and project plans.
- Project planning and scheduling: Develop project timelines, milestones, and work breakdown structures. Progress tracking: Monitor project progress against the schedule and identify any deviations.
- Budget management: Monitor project expenses, track spending against budget, and identify potential cost issues.
- Risk assessment: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Issue resolution: Identify and address project challenges and roadblocks.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field, business administration, construction management or a related field.
- Project management certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), project management professional (PMP) or similar.
- Proficiency in project management tools: Familiarity with software like Microsoft Project, and other project management applications. Highly proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite particularly, MS Word, Excell, Power Point.
- Communication skills: Project coordinator will interact with many individuals throughout the life cycle of a project, such as project managers, project sponsors, stakeholders and, the project team. For this reason, project coordinators must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills: There will be issues, challenges and different types of problems, big and small. Project coordinators must have problem-solving skills that allow them to quickly come up with solutions and strategies.
- Change management skills: During a projects lifecycle, there are many variables to control, and many situations that might force the project management team to make changes to the original project plan. Project coordinators must be able to adapt to these changes and revise documentation and schedules to meet these new requirements.
- Organizational skills: Project coordination, requires organizational, time management, delegation, planning, goal setting and decision-making, resource planning, among others that’ll help the project coordinator be on top of their own duties and responsibilities and monitor the performance of others.
- Excellent organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills: Clear and concise communication with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Attention to detail: Ability to catch errors and maintain accuracy in project documentation.
- Problem-solving skills: Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during a project.
- Time management skills: Effectively managing project timelines and deadlines.

Expected compensation range is between $120,000 - $140,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
