Job Description SummaryIn this role you will be responsible to drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As an integrator, working with cross function team (Product Management, Sourcing, Supply chain, Quality, Regulatory, Service, etc.) to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with the necessary features

  • Responsible to lead lifecycle projects & quality improvement projects.

  • Ability to drive & lead VCP projects & supplier transfer programs.

  • Responsible for developing and managing engineering / technology projects.

  • Partnering with the Lead System Designer and the cross-functional team to form and execute the integrated development plan and ensure that service requirements and outputs are defined and integrated properly within the product/program. 

  • Ability to proactively manage cross-functional interdependencies to maximize team efficiency and avoid gaps/delays in program execution.

  • Anticipate integration and design issues and can discern appropriate actions to progress the team and project forward.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.

  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Ensures that the product development process abides to the GE Healthcare Quality Management System, Phase Review Discipline, and market specific regulatory requirements.

  • Works independently and possesses a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field required.

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ of progressive experience as an engineer or project leader in a technical position

  • 2+ years of experience with project management, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including strong influential, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and ability to drive results.

  • Prior knowledge and experience of healthcare domain.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience working in Agile or Scaled Agile Framework

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical)

  • Demonstrated ability to own and drive daily execution and burn down of critical tasks and risk mitigations needed to meet the program timelines

  • Previous experience working with regulated medical products
