Responsible for managing the development team, leading on the development processes (including process/stack improvement and code reviews), writing specifications and leading the agile environment. The position will still require time for web development alongside the other responsibilities. The role is a full-stack web-developer; with the tech stacks being native PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and MySQL. The main development projects are for a multi-faceted internal web-application, with a focus on continued addition of features and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
- Management responsibilities of the developer team, including regular 1 on 1 meetings, HR and performance evaluations and recruitment when necessary. Will be supported by the IT Operations Manager
- Provide mentorship to the other developers, including oversight on code reviews and providing structure to their development cycle
- Work with the IT Operations Manager to improve development processes and strive to push and use new technologies and frameworks
- Development of new web applications for both internal and external use
- Leading the design and implementation of functional / non-functional testing processes
- Assist with the maintenance and continued development of internal web-based CRM system
- Ensure projects are completed within given timelines, taking ownership of the process and the management of the project
- Leading the troubleshooting, testing and maintenance of the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimisation and functionality
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow industry best practices
- Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary

Skills and competencies:

Essential skills:
- Experience of object-oriented PHP web development, preferably native but can be via a framework
- Experience of web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with a relational database system (preferably MySQL)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of development processes
- Good knowledge of developing web services
- Ability to project manage and prioritise workloads
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Keen to work in a team and collaborate
- Understanding of version control or using a version control system (Git)

Desirable skills:
- Experience of managing a team of developers
- Keeps up to date with the latest development technologies and frameworks
- Ability to successfully work on multiple projects and deadlines
- Commercial PHP experience
- Experience within the healthcare industry
