Lead New Product Design engineer
The Lead New Product Design engineer works independently on the projects from conceptualization to industrialization phases, determines the technical requirements, works on solutions to meet the needs. The final designs are validated through design reviews in collaboration with the technical experts (Controlled Title Holder – CTH) and the members of the project team (product manager, R&D manager, purchasing manager, etc...). S(he) works in relationships with many of the company's department in order to take as far as possible into account the needs of these services and ensure the success of the new product.
As a Lead New Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for
- Clarifying project input and ensure that everyone is well aligned with the need and product to be developed
- Organizing the technical activities on the project and validate the schedules in accordance with the specifications
- Writing the Product Technical Specification (PTS) that translates the customer's need into technical requirements
- Performing product design and Models
- Performing associated calculation notes, CFDs and FEA’s to validate the design
- Managing subcontracting of activities if necessary
- Writing all the technical documents necessary for the implementation of the new product in the selection and calculation software
- Writing All technical documents (CES, CMS, DR, CRD, etc ) associated with the product
- Coordinating technical meetings with other departments of the company (sourcing, manufacturing, Manufacturing engineering) to take into account the needs of these functions.
- Implementing design review sessions over the life of the project
- Conducting risk analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
- Incorporating DF(X) into designing
- Defining design rules and improve our process.
- Carrying out the technical training of new products for all the services in the company
- Work in conjunction with the testing laboratory to set up prototype tests
- Analysing and interpret with laboratory teams the results of prototype tests
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelors Degree or Masters in Mechanical from an accredited University or College.
- Have Core Design Engineering experience between 8-14 years
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design concepts
- Good knowledge in Fluid dynamics
- Should have working knowledge in FEA/CFD, Solid Works/ANSYS
- Should be from valve industry (Control Valve, On-Off Valve, GGC, Rotary valves etc.)
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes like B16.34, 16.10,16.5,31.1,31.2,31.3, BPVC Sec. 8. Div I, EN 12516, 1092, PED,
- Strong material knowledge (typically used in O&G, Refinery & Power sectors), ASTM material grades & testing.
- Knowledge in valve & material applications, selections
- Prior experience in New Product Design would be an added advantage
