The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Lead Network Administrator to work onsite in Doral, Florida and have the opportunity to oversee both traditional on-premise enterprise networking and cloud-based network infrastructure for IT and Cyber Services programs supporting the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services SCITES 2 contract. The Lead Network Administrator will be responsible for managing a hybrid network environment, ensuring high availability, security, and seamless connectivity across both physical and cloud infrastructures. This role requires strong technical expertise in traditional networking and emerging cloud technologies, along with leadership capabilities to manage a team in a complex, mission-critical environment.
Primary Responsibilities

Lead the management and maintenance of on-premise enterprise networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.

Oversee the design, implementation, and management of cloud networking solutions to support hybrid infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Ensure seamless integration between on-premise and cloud network environments, maintaining connectivity, security, and scalability.

Develop and implement network architecture strategies that meet the operational requirements of USSOUTHCOM, aligning with DoD standards and best practices.

Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, access control policies, and monitoring tools, ensuring robust defense against network-based threats.

Lead network operations and troubleshooting efforts to resolve connectivity issues, network failures, or performance bottlenecks.

Manage network configuration and change control, ensuring all changes are documented and compliant with cybersecurity standards.

Monitor network performance using advanced monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud architects, cybersecurity, and IT operations, to ensure cohesive network operations across all environments.

Drive continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives by identifying areas for increased efficiency, optimization, and the use of emerging technologies in both on-premise and cloud network environments.

Lead a team of network administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for professional development.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 12+ years of experience in network administration, with demonstrated expertise in both on-premise enterprise networking and cloud networking.

Must currently hold and be able to maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.

CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II/III certification

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty

Strong experience in managing Cisco or Juniper networking environments, including routing, switching, and network security.

Experience with cloud networking services such as Azure Virtual Network, AWS VPC, hybrid connectivity solutions (e.g., VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).

Proven experience implementing network security practices, including firewall management, network segmentation, and secure connectivity for cloud and on-premise networks.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues in a high-stakes, mission-critical environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across diverse mission partners and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Experience working with DoD or other government entities, particularly in a combatant command or defense-focused organization.

Knowledge of USSOUTHCOM’s mission, operational objectives, and command structure.

Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies.

ITIL Foundation Certification or similar service management qualification.

Pay Range:Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
