Lead ML Engineer (m/f/d)

About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d) to join an innovative startup that’s harnessing cutting-edge AI technology to transform regulatory workflows in order to foster speed and innovation in the Life Sciences industry. 

In your day-to-day work, you’ll leverage your knowledge in Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, or Regulatory Compliance. You’ll own a large part of our ML services and complete a team of 3 highly-skilled ML Engineers. You'll make key technical decisions to optimise the speed of iteration, data quality, and model performance.

In this role, you’ll:

• Develop the core data pipelines & ML services
• Own ML-based features end-to-end, from the first prototype to the final delivery
• Balance high-quality & performant code while shipping quickly
• Contribute to product strategy and roadmap planning
• Drive technical decisions across our ML stack

Bonus points for experience with:

• Document-based data pipelines
• Natural Language Processing
• Web scraping
• Startups, especially in founding roles
• The life sciences or regulatory compliance sectors

Your Profile

• Experienced in ML engineering, with strong data science & python skills
• Proven track record of shipping ML-based products in a fast-paced environment, ideally from the earliest stages
• Ability to ship quickly, and break down complex problems into small & modular solutions
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities & communication skills
• Passion for our portfolio company’s mission and excitement about revolutionizing an old-school industry with AI

Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
