Lead Inserter

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the inserting process for our publications is completed on a daily basis. Includes basic supervision and direction to staff regarding production processes. This is an entry level position and will train if knowledgeable/proficient in basic computer skills.

The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday 3pm-12am or Saturday - Wednesday 3pm-12am.

What you will do:

• Regular and reliable attendance and adherence to all safety rules/procedures

• Runs reports and completes spreadsheets for production/press operations, ie press on/off times

• Accesses computer portals for data entry and to run labels/produces labels

• Hand inserting free standing inserts into the inserting machine

• Operate the shrink wrap machine to wrap pallets

• Utilize pallet jacks or forklifts to move materials between the mailroom and the warehouse

• Use of a “jogging” table aligning inserts perfectly prior to loading an inserting pocket

• Work on the binder machine to load signatures

• Loading mail pieces into the mail machine and gathering address pieces off the conveyor

• Responsible for the daily clean up of the mailroom work environment

What you will bring:

• Be a team player, with ability to communicate directions to team members

• Good communication skills

• Computer Software skills (Microsoft Office)

• Positive, energetic personality

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous warehouse, material handling, forklift and/or computer office skills preferred

• Job is based in a warehouse environment with associated machinery noise, forklift operations

• Routine use of machinery (inserting machines/stackers/binder)

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly wage is $16.50 - $17.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
