Lead Field Engineer
Position Summary
The Lead Field Engineer will be responsible for managing the Field Services personnel effectively and efficiently to perform on-site routine services including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Qatargas hub and remote sites, ensuring the customer's requirements are met.
Position Responsibilities

Work closely with in-country manager / SDM in order to deliver high quality engineering outputs across all technical aspects of project and service delivery om Qatar.

Lead and manage all engineering activities for QG Hub in North Qatar and work with SDM to ensure routine maintenance is upheld to highest possible standards.

Ensure all Field Service projects in Qatar are completed within the deadline to meet customers' needs.

Oversee the supervision, scheduling, training, and mentoring of the Field Service Engineers and Technicians in Qatar including 3rd parties.

Ensure all tools & testing equipment’s used in Qatar are in order, calibrated & are accounted for, share quarterly inventory checks with Field Service Manager – Middle East and SDM

Carry out inventory checks of all in country hardware & share inventory report ever Quarter

Recognise areas within the Field Service that require improvement and ensure these are addressed following Speedcast procedures.

Handle escalated issues arising from field and customers in Qatar and coordinate with SDM & Field Service Manager and other departments to resolve them timely.

Communicate expectations regarding performance and hold FE and Techs in Qatar accountable for results and motivate them to meet / exceed KPI’s.

Enhance Team communication and engagement.

Ensure the team is aware of the company’s technologies and that they have the knowledge of how to implement it.

Develop and continuously improve the team’s performance and competencies.

Promote teamwork within the region and ensure that all FEs and Techs are well motivated.

Ensure the team does have the required spare parts for immediate dispatch that result in customer satisfaction.

Ensure that the established corporate processes and procedures are fully understood and followed by the field team, always hold the team members accountable to follow them .

Ensure that the team are fully aware of the company policies and rules, learning and service portals (ServiceNow, LMS, SharePoint, Teams, etc...).

Conduct on-going meetings with the team to review on-going activities and updates.

Create a relationship and experience for customers that differentiates Speedcast.

Establish and build strong relationship with 3rd parties and subcontractors in Qatar.

Negotiate the best daily rate with 3rd parties, establish SLA in accordance with the company’s payment terms and company’s condition.

Provide monthly report to the Field Service Manager – Middle East and SDM with HSE activities, field activities, issues, and resolution.

Support Speedcast core values and always leading by example.

Other duties as directed by Field Service Manager – Middle East which might be applicable to countries outside of Qatar.
Experience and Education Requirements
-
Engineering degree in Telecommunications or equivalent.
-
10+ years of experience in IT and Telecommunications business with hands-on experience on VSAT.
-
3+ years of experience in running operations in Qatar (licensing, satellite equipment importation).

3+ years in a Senior Field Engineering role with demonstrated leadership experience.

Demonstrated focus on customer service quality.
-
Able to multi-task, highly organised having demonstrated ability to prioritise.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to understand the company “vision” and communicate to a team.
-
Excellent understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.

Background in ITIL preferred.

Project Management Certification is a plus.
