Why this is important to us: 

We are looking for a SQL Database SRE to join our team within Services, and deliver the implementation and operation of SimCorp Client Reporting to the client, as well as deploying cloud-based solutions that meet both new and existing client requirements. Activities include implementation, testing, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of SimCorp Client Reporting

What you will be responsible for: 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, and resilient database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server running on both VMs and Azure SQL. 

• Implement and manage database infrastructure with a focus on uptime, performance optimization, and cost-efficiency. 

• Develop automation tools to manage and monitor SQL databases, ensuring smooth and reliable operations across our Azure environment. 

• Collaborate with development and consultancy teams to architect databases that meet business needs while adhering to SRE principles. 

• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including upgrades, patches, and backups. 

• Analyze and improve database systems to prevent potential failures, reduce latency, and handle increasing loads. 

• Participate in on-call rotations and provide tier-3 support for database-related issues. 

• Ensure compliance with data security regulations and best practices. 

• Continuously research and integrate new technologies and methodologies to improve the efficiency and capabilities of the database infrastructure. 

• Establishing connectivity with external Data Warehouse, including but not limited to SnowFlake, Linked Server real time data replication 

What we value:

• Five or more years of experience in database administration or reliability engineering, particularly focused on cloud environments, such as Azure. 
• Extensive experience with SQL Server VMs, including provisioning, scaling, and managing performance. 

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell. 

• Deep understanding of database structure principles, and experience with data migration, transformation, and scripting. 

• Experience with automated database testing and deployment strategies. 

• Familiarity with DevOps tools Terraform and methodologies. 

• Skilled in innovative problem resolution and maintaining composure during tense moments. 
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
