Vantage is seeking a detail-oriented, initiative-driven, quick-learning Lead Analyst, Tax for a 3-month contract to provide expert tax support in M&A transactional work. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in advising on tax implications, structuring deals, conducting due diligence, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact transactions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize tax efficiency and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is capable of driving results and takes initiatives. You should have a professional-growth mindset and be willing to bring forth innovative ideas and methods that can benefit Vantage. 

Duties

Tax Planning

• Play a pivotal role in shaping our APAC tax strategy and holding structure which aligns with Vantage’s overall business objectives and growth plans.
• Manage tax audit defence strategies to ensure compliance with current legislations and mitigate tax risks.

• Lead tax planning projects and manage tax risks effectively.
• Play a pivotal role in the post-acquisition integration in M&A projects.
• Proactively identify tax risks and collaborate with broader teams on opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation.
• Participate in tax incentives initiatives and monitor compliance with tax incentives conditions.
• Stay updated on tax developments.

Tax Support

• Provide day-to-day tax advisory to business units regarding indirect tax and withholding tax obligations.
• Provide tax support in M&A transactional work.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tax advisory/ compliance in a Big 4 firm.
• Strong project management skills.
• Experience with taxes in Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and/or Australia is preferred.
• Professional qualification in accountancy and/or tax.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for business partnering.
• Ability to work effectively under competing deadlines.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and a desire to learn about and understand new tax concepts and regimes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
