Senior Project Engineer- Large Capital

Where will you work: Regina, Saskatchewan.

The Large Capital Project Engineer will manage a portfolio of projects that could be located at any of the Saskatchewan Minesite locations (Esterhazy, Belle Plaine, and Colonsay). Projects will include Large Capital, Opportunity, and potentially ARO projects. Tasks relating to this job include preliminary or detailed project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, supervision, execution, and construction management. The engineer will also work collaboratively with site production and maintenance teams to achieve the strategic priorities of Mosaic.

What you’ll do?

  • Project execution and management of capital projects of varying size and complexity

  • Responsible for scope, schedule, budget, safety and quality

  • Responsible for contractor management and driving positive safety culture

  • Project administration including project approval, reporting, and schedule updates

  • Technical design of projects and oversight of third-party engineering work

  • Cost control, including developing estimates and budgets and providing monthly forecasting for projects.

  • Schedule development and reporting

  • Engineering design (developing and/or reviewing engineering, procurement, and construction work packages for projects)

  • Construction oversite in an industrial environment

  • Department initiatives (non-project specific engineering, project management process definition)

  • Site and company initiatives to support safety, production, expansion and maintenance

  • Technical/personal development and coaching others (contractors, trades, training courses, etc.)

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.

  • 8+ years of Engineering experience

  • Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or P. Eng designation with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)

  • Broad engineering and construction knowledge in all disciplines is an asset

  • Computer skills in MS Office Suite are required.

  • Engineering software skills are an asset (CAD, AFT Fathom, etc.)

  • Highly Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities.

  • We will consider a lower Engineer Designation if candidate has fewer years of experience.

  • Must be willing and able to travel to sites (25%)
