Laravel Backend Engineer - Octopus by RTG

• Collaborate with Dev team members to design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionalities following best industrial practices.
• Take ownership of solution design and development for critical components.
• Evaluate, implement, and enforce software development best practices.
• Participate in technical support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Provide technical insights for system integration, including estimations and proposals.
• Investigate and fix bugs, refactor code, and improve system performance.
• Mentor less-senior developers, offering constructive feedback on pull requests and design documents.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Offer technical support for web and mobile applications.
• Embrace continuous learning to keep up with evolving technologies.

Requirements:

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years in backend development.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in PHP Laravel Framework, with experience in designing, developing, and testing software.
• Experience handling high availability, concurrency, and low latency solutions using PHP Laravel.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and experience in optimizing SQL query performance.
• Experience with system administration (a plus).
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google APIs.
• Experience with Continuous Delivery (CD) lifecycle, deployment, and support (a plus).
• SDLC Expertise: Experience with version control, CI/CD, and configuration management tools.
• Performance & Security: Ability to reason about performance, security, and interactions in complex distributed systems.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Problem-Solving: Strong debugging skills for both new and existing software.
• Additional Skills:
• Experience with high availability, low latency, and scalability requirements.
• Experience working with remote/distributed teams and projects.
