As a Key Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with our important wholesalers and catering customers within JDE Peet's Away From Home market segment (B2B). You’ll build strategic partnerships and seek optimal product-market solutions for the customer to commercialize the added value of our premium coffee and tea solutions.

You'll be part of our Sales team based in Brussels and will report directly to the Segment Manager.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • You will be responsible for the management and expansion/growth of both the existing customer portfolio and prospecting for potential customers
  • You will be responsible for the full development of commercial proposals and develop detailed sales plans. You understand the needs of your customers and work proactively to integrate them into your sales plans.
  • You realize the predetermined objectives regarding sales and volumes by selling concepts/systems, ingredients and cross selling
  • Based on critical analysis and interpretation of sales data, you look for strategies to optimize the profitability of the existing customer portfolio.
  • You negotiate annual and multi-year contracts with your customers. 
  • You are responsible for the volume forecasting for your customers.
  • You work together with marketing to guarantee the necessary visibility, the regional account manager team supports you in the field implementation and also cooperation with finance and operations is crucial. You facilitate the internal communication and follow up.
  • You work your way in quickly and stay up to date with market trends, competitive developments and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

For this role we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • You have a bachelor or master degree, ideally in a commercial orientation
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience within Sales. Preferably you have gained this experience in an FMCG or food service environment and you have knowledge of catering/wholesalers accounts
  • You have experience in drawing up sales and trade-marketing plans
  • You enjoy analysing and interpreting data in order to transform them into insights. Your good knowledge of Excel helps you to do so.
  • Persuasiveness and negotiation skills are in your DNA. You are a natural networker, both internally and externally you establish contacts and build relationships.
  • You work independently and result-driven, have perseverance and take initiative. You have a growth mindset and continuously strive for opportunities to grow for yourself, your team, JDE and the client.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
  • Driving license B
