THE ROLE & THE TEAM
The Transport Solutions team is a local team based in Berlin and consists of 5 sub-teams Inbound Transport, Linehaul Operations, Transport Development, Service Provider Management as well as the Transport Invoice Validation (TIV). The Inbound Transport team looks after the first mile, collecting goods from suppliers from all over the world for delivery into Zalando warehouses. The team looks after the transport flows Inbound Road, Inbound Ocean/Air, Inbound IDC Transports (connecting Internal Distribution Centers with our warehouses). The Linehaul Operations team is responsible for the middle mile transports connecting Zalando warehouses with last mile CEP carriers covering 27 EU countries, for Internal WHS Transports (for stock transports) and Returns Transports (from CEPS to Zalando Return Centers). The Transport Development team is responsible for all key initiatives aimed at improving customer experience and/or costs. The Service Provider Management are responsible for carrier management, TMS activities for first and middle mile, which includes being the main owners of carrier performance and warehouse performance in conjunction with carriers, and storing all carrier data within the Zalando systems. The Transport Invoice Validation (TIV) Team is responsible for verifying the invoice accuracy submitted by carriers covering First Mile, Mid-Mile and Last Mile carrier invoices.
In this role you are part of the TIV team, reporting to the Lead Transport Invoice Verification. You will be a vital part of Zalando's invoicing process and the link between our financial department and our service providers all over Europe.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

You will be responsible for the prompt validation of invoice accuracy to support an on-time payment within the agreed payment terms.

You proactively detect invoice errors and work with service providers for a correction.

You support the team by identifying key pain points related to existing manual processes and provide some recommendations on how to improve them.

You support the launch of certain key initiatives such as the roll-out of E-invoicing.

You work to change the norm, push the boundaries of convenience, speed, services and costs for our customers.

In close cooperation with the other team leaders in finance and logistics, such as accounting, delivery solutions, controlling and inbound, you troubleshoot price discrepancies and raise awareness about them.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

Ideally, you have a degree in Business Administration, Finance , Supply Chain Management or similar disciplines

You have have gained at least 2-3 years work experience in a business related environment, preferably supply chain & e-commerce environment, ideally gained in invoice verification, finance or accounting department

You have experience in contributions to medium-sized projects with different stakeholders and delivering measurable improvement (new processes, people topics, etc.). Ideally, you have experience with the roll-out of e-invoicing and its implementation in existing processes

You have a high level of initiative and inspiration with your innovative, entrepreneurial mindset

You critically question existing processes and independently look for alternative solutions

You enjoy working in a fast-changing, international environment. You are a dedicated team player, open, positive, flexible and professional; you are able to maintain team spirit and be a true role model

You are fluent in English written and spoken, German fluency is a plus
