We are seeking a skilled Junior IT Systems Administrator to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position plays a critical role in supporting our organization's IT infrastructure and systems. The Junior IT Systems Administrator will work under the direction of the IT Chief to ensure the smooth operation of network servers, Microsoft Office 365 cloud services, and other IT systems essential to our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • IT Operations:
  • Manage and maintain network servers including on-premises Active Directory, DNS, DHCP servers.
  • Ensure up-to-date software repository and distribution using Microsoft Defender.
  • Perform patch management using Qualys Patch Management System.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco Meraki switches.
  • Administer Single Sign-On (Okta) and Identity Access Management systems.
  • Microsoft Office 365 Administration:
  • Administer and support Microsoft Office 365 cloud applications including Azure, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and One Drive for Business.
  • Manage Microsoft Defender and its components for antivirus/malware protection.
  • Utilize Intune or Endpoint Manager for device management.
  • Security Management:
  • Assist in FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act) compliance activities.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning, remediation, and document remediation status.
  • Manage Okta Identity Management and Single Sign-On platform.
  • Monitor and analyze security event logs using SIEM tools like Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Infrastructure Management:
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation for IT operations.
  • Develop and update network diagrams and administrative procedures.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding procedures for computers and mobile devices.
  • Ensure compliance of devices with organizational security policies.
  • Collaboration and Support:
  • Work collaboratively with the IT Chief and other team members to resolve technical issues and incidents promptly.
  • Provide administrative support for the Foundation's Grant Management System as related to IT operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft MCSA or MCSE Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT administration, with at least 1 years focused on Microsoft Windows Servers (2016 and above) and Office 365 cloud applications.
  • Experience in administering SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams voice, Azure, and One Drive for Business.
  • Experience with identity access management systems, single sign-on solutions, and security management tools.
  • Troubleshooting skills and experience in network infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of DHS CDM Program and web content publishing is preferred.
  • US Citizenship required due to federal agency contract requirements.
