We are seeking a Junior Hardware Test Engineer to join our Hardware testing team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of hardware components and products. You will assist in designing test plans, executing tests, identifying issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in the US and Oulu, Finland to deliver high-quality products.
What You will do:
Test Planning & Execution:
- Work with senior engineers to develop and execute test plans and procedures for Oura ring .
- Assist in functional, reliability and stress testing of materials and hardware systems.
- Conduct tests on modules, and integrated systems, and document findings in detail.
Test Equipment & Tools:
- Learn to operate test equipment such as environmental testers, vibration, microscopes, multimeters, tensile strength, and scratch testers.
- Help design and build simple test fixtures to facilitate hardware testing..
Documentation & Analysis:
- Contribute to creating test reports, bug reports, and testing protocols.
- Assist in root cause analysis
Collaboration & Review:
- Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers to identify and resolve hardware issues.
- Participate in design reviews and learn about manufacturability, testability, and quality.
Reliability Testing:
- Support the development and execution of validation and reliability test methods..
- Help conduct mechanical, environmental, and materials testing (e.g., mechanical stress, shock/drop, vibration, environmental tests).
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, technologies, and trends in hardware engineering.
External Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating test activities with external labs.
- Help maintain an organized and efficient hardware test lab.
We would love to have You on our team if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience..
- 0-2 years of hands-on experience in hardware or electronics testing (internships/co-op experience is welcome)
- Good debugging skills.
- Exposure to mechanical, environmental, and reliability testing is a plus
- Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Collaborative mindset and a proactive “can-do” attitude.
- Willingness to take guidance from senior engineers and adapt to new technologies.
