Company Description

Hello! We're Teya.

Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.

At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.

We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.

We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.

We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.

Become a part of our story.

We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.

Job Description

Your Role

You will work with a supportive and experienced team to help shape the future of our new customers’ onboarding experience, contributing to user-facing features that directly impact how merchants get started with Teya. With guidance and mentorship, you’ll participate in the full feature development lifecycle and use real customer feedback to help improve the user experience.

You will work with technologies like React to write clean, reliable, and maintainable code. We focus on continuous deployment and iterative delivery, so your work can reach production quickly and make a real difference for our users.

We’re looking for someone early in their front-end development journey who brings curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn.

On a regular day as a Junior Frontend Engineer, you will:

  • Write and maintain user interface code using React and modern TypeScript practices.

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to build intuitive features.

  • Participate in team rituals like stand-ups, planning, and code reviews to grow your technical skills.

  • Contribute to testing, debugging, and improving the performance of web applications.

  • Learn how to ship features iteratively and gather insights from user feedback and monitoring tools.

  • Stay curious and open to learning new tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Qualifications

Your Story

  • 0–2 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on front-end applications.

  • Practical experience using React to build user interfaces — from internships, academic projects, personal work, or professional roles.

  • Experience with modern JavaScript or TypeScript (TypeScript preferred).

  • Understanding of component-based architecture and basic state management concepts.

  • Exposure to CSS and responsive design.

  • Basic knowledge of how front-end apps connect to back-end APIs (REST or GraphQL).

  • Comfortable using Git and open to learning more about version control, collaboration workflows, and deployment practices.

  • Curious, collaborative, and motivated to grow in a supportive engineering environment.
