About the role
- All aspects of End User support: resolving issues from users and escalating where necessary.
- Quickly and efficiently corresponds with users to answer their questions.
- Assist in troubleshooting performance issues on the database such as slow running queries.
- Monitoring and maintaining SQL server agent jobs. Ensuring that backup and related maintenance jobs are running and troubleshooting problems or errors.
- Working independently as well as collaboratively within the team.
- Communicating back to the team with any concerns or questions to understand the best approach to solving users’ issues.
Technical Skills – Required
- Proven experience as a support of business/financial systems.
- Experience with T-SQL language and its variation among relational databases (RDBMS).
- Experience in SQL Server Management Studio and Visual Studio.
- Understanding of data analysis and process modelling.
- Strong overall IT skills.
Further Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; in particular, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people for whom English is not their native language.
- Objective focused with a tenacious appetite to provide the highest level of service.
- Able to demonstrate excellent customer/client facing skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships.
