Position Summary:
Composes electronic correspondence in response to requests for settlements, credit and other information, and delinquent accounts. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and resolving accounts with debt settlement companies. Locates and updates debtor attorney information; works with Consumer Credit Counseling Services by utilizing the automated Peregrin portal.
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Reviews, analyzes, resolves, and updates accounts associated with incoming emails, data files, concerns; communicates with debt settlement companies by partnering with legal, bankruptcy, and other departments as needed to resolve and settle debt
- Processes SQL queries, exports results and audits plans established by Consumer Credit Counseling Services; partners with them to ensure all necessary authorization documentation is on file
- Reviews and completes inquiry requests through the Peregrin portal
- Processes SQL queries to identify all accounts in Company inventory that have active payments but broken plans and works with DMC companies to reinstate plans
- Reviews and researches state bars and confirms Attorney contact information; updates contact information in the applicable databases
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- Associates degree in business administration, database administration, or related field, or a demonstrable equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience
- 1-3 years of experience conducting, designing, modifying, developing, and implementing processes preferred
- 1-3 years of experience with federal and state laws and regulations related to consumer credit and collections, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Equal Credit Opportunity Act
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Ability to perform advanced research and analysis and provide recommendations and implement process improvements
- Must have effective organizational, communication, time-management and interpersonal skill, ability to draft business correspondence, and procedure manuals and a high attention to detail
- Must represent PRA with a high degree of professionalism
- Beginner SQL data analysis, preferred
- Beginner Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
