We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This role involves assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has strong analytical skills, and is passionate about building a career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and on time.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Assist with audits and the preparation of documentation for auditors.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or working toward one).
- Experience: 2+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel , Google workspace and accounting software
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (ASPE/IFRS).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with financial analysis and budgeting processes.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Working towards professional designation
