POSITION PURPOSE

The Join YPO Manager initiates direct communication with prospective members who meet YPO membership qualification criteria and have formally applied. The manager serves as the primary contact for all prospects in the YPO membership application pipeline within the manager’s designated region and leads prospect management activities such as conducting interviews with the applicant and re-directing the prospect to the most appropriate geographic chapter within specific assigned region(s), including liaison with the Atlas and Athena program leads.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the assignment of prospect leads and applications to chapters within region(s).

  • Direct prospect leads outside the region, including referrals, to Join YPO Managers in other regions.

  • Initiate and establish rapport with prospective members and applicants in the application portal. Maintain profile of qualified applicants, including bio and social media links such as LinkedIn. Share applicant profile as part of application process.

  • Communicate with the Chapter Managers to support any prospect application requirements needed.

  • Monitor all membership applications, including those submitted by chapters within the assigned geography, and validate prospect qualifications to meet the YPO membership criteria prior to assigning to chapters to pursue.

  • Identify opportunities for a Waiver and execute the application processing with the Chapter Manager.

  • Create and manage prospect lead records and retain responsibility for the record and application assignment until the prospect is converted to a member or the application is officially declined.

  • Initiate re-assignment of prospect leads and applications, providing all opportunities to join YPO.

  • Maintain daily oversight and responsibility of the conversion goals within the assigned geography as well as the global membership goals.

  • Proactively partner with the Membership Recruitment Manager to determine recommended practices and changes in approach to achieve annual goal, sharing best practices across the entire Membership team.

  • Develop and recommend enhancements to the Salesforce prospect portal aiming at continuous simplification and automation of the prospect management process.

  • Maintain records in Salesforce reflecting chapter-specific membership criteria and assigning the applications accordingly. Monitor and manage the re-assignment of applications as needed and required by the YPO policies and procedures.

  • Generate reports for membership development based on demand and conversion rates.

  • Collaborate with the Membership Recruitment Manager and Marketing team in the execution of YPO awareness/promotion initiatives and campaigns for materials relevant to joining YPO, ensuring any materials developed are relevant and culturally sensitive to assigned region(s).

  • Maintain an elevated level of YPO membership policy knowledge and serve as an advisor to the members and the management team.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for related policies and resources escalated from Concierge.

  • Outstanding account management and business development skills including the effective deployment of social media platforms in the acquisition of YPO prospects.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at building meaningful relationships with all levels of associates, members and vendors. Adaptable, insightful, empathetic and reliable.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of experience in a service oriented and/or account management environment.

  • 1+ year of experience in indirect sales in a not-for-profit organization highly preferred.

  • Successful record of identifying and managing prospects or new recruits, building the customer base and improving customer retention in a highly competitive market.

  • Experience in client relationship management (CRM) software, with Salesforce preferred.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.

  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.

  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 25% per year.
