Amentum is seeking a dynamic and innovative JFN Plans Systems Designer to support U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate located at Camp Smith, Hawaii. This role will be tasked to identify, analyze, articulate and incorporate data requirements and artifacts in the planning and operational execution of:
- Integration of requirements across the Services, Allies, and Partner Nations within the Indo-Pacific Joint Coalition Fires enterprise to achieve maximum effects against selected targets.
- Enhance government customer capabilities while addressing focused implementation and system integration challenges.
- Work across multiple staff offices to advise, synergize, and develop innovative methods to standardize data ingestion and tagging, and support on-going management of associated USINDOPACOM systems and applications.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work across all USINDOPACOM directorates and special staff to understand the data resident within the Command, the types of data most frequently used, and for what purpose.
- Develop, maintain, and support technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components
- Engineer and lead the enterprise virtual infrastructure and system software components.
- Perform high-level root cause analysis in support of service interruption recovery, as well as creating and documenting preventive measures.
- Work as a strong team contributor and providing technical expertise.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in information technology and helping shape the work for the Government.
- Work with the Government to understand their requirements and evaluate possible technical solutions.
- Engineer host environments to support complex operational databases, software configuration control and system interfaces for computer systems related to customer requirements.
- Maintain file servers, network access; documents, analyzes and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
- Perform complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
- Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.
- Plan and direct upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
- Develop documentation on new or existing systems.
- Develop and direct tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system problems.
- Provide system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.
- Serve as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Participate in special projects as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with MIL-STD data formats; USMTF/OTH, CMF, TACTICAL DATA LINKS/JREAP and VMF
- Experience with C2/C4ISR systems/databases; MIDB/TMS
- 10+ years’ relevant experience with an Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years’ relevant experience with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience; Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Qualified JICO and minimum of 3 years’ experience in this role conducting C2 systems analysis.
- Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with USINDOPACOM HQ, the AOR, and associated intelligence/operational missions
- Experience with intelligence community systems and tools
- Previous experience working in a 4-star Headquarters
- Experience with AWS, Java, C++, APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, and/or JavaScript
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to provide information, articles, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level officials.
The salary range for this position is $150K to $175K. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
