Objectives/Purpose
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing data security safe guarding company data in today's fast-changing challenges and EFT needs.
You will also lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring best practices and fostering development within the team. You will work closely with our data engineering and analytics teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration across various data sources and destinations.
Accountabilities
Development Responsibilities
- Workflow Design: Create, configure, and implement custom workflows in Globalscape Enhanced File Transfer (EFT).
- Integration: Integrate Globalscape EFT with business systems using custom connectors.
- Platform Scaling and Support: Assit in scaling the MFT platforms through Globalscape or Similar iPaaS solutions to support business
- Customization: Build event rules, and workflows based on business requirements.
- Performance Optimization: Enhance file transfer performance by optimizing configurations and workflows.
Collaboration and Communication
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to understand and fulfil file transfer requirements.
- User Support: Provide technical assistance on Globalscape EFT functionality.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Proactive Management
- Capacity Planning: Monitor resource usage and plan for scalability as business needs grow.
- Audit Readiness: Ensure all systems and processes comply with audit requirements and organizational policies.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve file transfer efficiency and security.
Education, Behavioural Competencies And Skills:
Essential
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience working with data integration tools, including at least 2 years with Global Scape.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
- Strong understanding of data integration concepts, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading and managing teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment efficients for the MFT platforms
