The Team:
APInauts are responsible for the design and development of Celonis external facing APIs, bringing the power of process mining capabilities closer to our customers. The main focus so far has been Intelligence APIs which provides our customers the ability to leverage Celonis Intelligence in their third-party tools and platforms.
We are now expanding our catalog of third-party APIs with new capabilities, including managing trigger subscriptions, receiving business events and interacting with Process Copilots and AI agents. These additions enhance integration options and extend the ways customers can leverage Celonis in our workflows.
The Role:
As a global hyper-growth leader in process mining technology, our goal at Celonis is to establish our Intelligent Business Cloud as a standard SaaS solution in any company. Celonis is looking for a Backend Engineer to build new features, design and implement robust public APIs and continuously increase our software's reliability. Our Java services are built on Java 21 and Spring (Boot), and expertise in microservices is highly desirable.
Your Will:
- Propose, define, implement and release new software functionalities.
- Continuously improve the reliability and stability of our products.
- Work with state-of-the-art technologies, developing breakthrough solutions always aiming to bring further value to our users and increase the Customer reach.
- Constantly improve our development processes aiming for automation and efficiency.
- Collaborate and work closely with the Product Management and UX teams to better understand end-user requirements.
- Embrace a continuous learning and continuous improvement culture.
Your Qualifications: Are:
- 5+ years of experience in building JAVA web applications professionally.
- Write clear, understandable and testable code with a continuous focus on maintainability, performance, security and stability.
- Have working experience with Java, Maven, Spring Frameworks, and REST APIs.
- Having a can-do attitude, capable to solve problems with small supervision.
- Someone who enjoys sharing knowledge, working, and collaborating with other teams across the organization.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and the latest Java features.
- Experience in unit testing, integration testing and TDD in a Spring Boot environment.
- Knowledge of API design principles, Open API specification, REST API architecture and other API architectures.
- Understanding of API security principles (such as OAuth 2, JWTs, …).
- Experience with distributed systems leveraging a microservice-based architecture.
- Knowledge of message-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka…).
- Familiar with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Datadog or other monitoring tools, with a focus on system reliability and performance tracking.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Have a high-level understanding of Process Mining.
