What you will be doing
responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust Java architectures to meet the evolving needs of the organization, leveraging cloud-native solutions and microservices principles.
- Lead architectural discussions and decision-making processes, influencing technology choices and best practices across multiple teams.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance on design patterns, performance optimization, and security considerations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment with product goals and timelines.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of excellence in software development and continuous improvement.
- Stay relevant of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending strategic investments to enhance our technology stack.
- Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns
- Monitor compliance of cloud resources to see if they fit industry guardrails and best practices
- Help other development and engineering teams resolve application to platform integration issues for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) services
- Research and propose solutions for AWS data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks, and application integration
- Work closely with lead architects and engineers to create and maintain architectural templates and build/operational documents
- Work with DevOps and engineering teams to develop service catalogues.
What you bring:
Knowledge / Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java technologies and frameworks.
- Proven experience in leading architecture design and implementation for large-scale enterprise applications.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong knowledge of Java ecosystem tools, including Spring, Hibernate, and RESTful services.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- The individual may be required to work on multiple areas simultaneously (development, platform releases, installations, conversions, support, training, etc.)
Skills
- Core Java, Latest features of Java (8 & 11)
- Angular, Node & JavaScript
- Web services – SOAP & REST
- Frameworks – Spring, Hibernate, Junit (Unit testing), spring boot (good to have)
- Knowledge of Design patterns
- Deployment and insight on App. Servers – JBoss, WebLogic & WebSphere
- Sound knowledge of Databases – Oracle, MS-SQL (My-SQL is good to have)
- Background of building Web applications is mandatory.
- Sound analytical & communication skills
- Sound debugging skills & hands on knowledge of industry standard tools such as eclipse, SOAP UI etc.
- HTML 5 & CSS 3
- Knowledge of FIS products and services
- Ability to be comfortable interacting with executive level clients
- Ability to delegate projects to qualified subordinates as appropriate
- Ability to operate independently
- Ability to exhibit solid decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Responsible for the creation of the software architecture in modular, easy to maintain and extendible parts (components and modules);
- Extensive participation in Design & Architecture of current & new systems
- Hands on Software development- coding
- Technically responsible for the software in projects.
- Ensures mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate components in modular, easy-to-maintain hardware/software that meets the product specification.
- Acts in line with departmental and project processes
- Guides the Development Engineers in the design and implementation of the parts of a subsystem.
- Has an important say in the choice of development environment and has ultimate responsibility for the software top-level design.
- Experience on application security testing and remediation.
