A&E Pharmacy in Arden Hills, MN is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IV Technician to join our dedicated team. As an integral part of our pharmacy operations, you will play a crucial role in preparing sterile intravenous medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality for our patients. This position is Full-Time working 10:00am to 6:30pm with occasional weekends.
Pay Range: $22 to $27 / hour depending on experience.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare sterile intravenous medications, including but not limited to antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, parenteral nutrition, and other admixtures, following established protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Perform calculations and measurements accurately to ensure correct dosages and concentrations.
- Maintain a clean and organized sterile compounding environment in compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards.
- Operate and maintain sterile compounding equipment, including laminar flow hoods and biological safety cabinets.
- Accurately label and document all compounded preparations according to pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Assist pharmacists in inventory management of IV solutions and medications, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
- Participate in quality control procedures, including environmental monitoring and equipment checks.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and infection control policies.
- Assist with training new pharmacy staff on IV preparation procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist.
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Current and valid Pharmacy Technician license/registration in the state of Minnesota
- Proven experience as an IV Technician is a bonus, demonstrating a strong understanding of aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures.
- Certification in sterile compounding is highly desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and preparation.
- Strong knowledge of USP 797 and 800 guidelines and best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
