Localization at Formlabs is a fast-growing and fundamental team based in Budapest. As an Italian Translator, you will take care of translating English marketing and technical support content to Italian for a wide range of audiences that include engineering, manufacturing, dental, medical, jewelry, and education. You will also contribute to various marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing our local presence in Italy and increasing the awareness of the Formlabs brand.

Join the Localization Team @ Formlabs as an Italian Translator if you want to play a key role in how our content explains the value of our products and empower us to reach potential customers in a dynamic, global market space.

The Job:

  • Translate English marketing materials, product UIs, technical support documents, and manufacturing content into Italian
  • Revise, proofread, and post-edit translated documents to ensure high quality and accuracy
  • Provide feedback to localization management and content writers to enhance source content and improve workflows
  • Become proficient with our CAT tool to maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency in Italian translations
  • Manage and update Formlabs’ Italian termbase and translation memory
  • Take ownership of our localized video content strategy in Italian, including advanced subtitling, voice-over creation or editing, and the refinement of AI-generated video content
  • Research specialized terminology and phraseology to ensure precise and accurate translations
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns and content promotion by crafting compelling marketing copy in Italian as needed

You:

  • Language Expertise: Native-level Italian proficiency (C2) with impeccable grammar and exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Professional Experience: At least 2 years of experience in translation (freelance, agency, or in-house) and editing
  • Marketing Acumen: Understanding of marketing communication style, tone, and brand strategy
  • Technical Know-How: Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., memoQ, XTM, Trados, Memsource) and experience translating technical, scientific, medical, or commercial content
  • Publication Experience: Demonstrated experience translating relevant materials such as marketing, technical/scientific, dental and medical, commercial, and promotional content
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to clearly and concisely convey complex technical and non-technical concepts
  • Independence and Drive: Capable of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
  • Passion for Language: A deep interest in translation, linguistics, terminology, or related fields

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Hands-on experience or knowledge of manufacturing tools like 3D Printers CAD/CAM solutions
