We’re on the lookout for dynamic IT Services Specialist to join our IT team at QBE in two newly created roles! This is your chance to make a real impact by supporting our Accumulation Management and Global Reinsurance teams, driving innovation, and ensuring the seamless operation of our technical services.
In these roles, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping and improving how we work, pushing back when necessary, and continuously striving for better ways to support our teams and achieve business goals.
Your new role
As an IT Services Specialist, you'll be responsible for providing end-to-end technical support and service management for QBE’s Accumulation Management and Global Reinsurance departments.
You'll work closely with many teams—including CAT Modelers, Reinsurance teams, Senior Technical Services Owners, Product Owners, and third-party suppliers—to ensure operational excellence, meet business objectives, and maintain a high standard of IT services.
Main Responsibilities:

Manage assigned services to meet business requirements and support relevant business services. Oversee day-to-day operational relationships with suppliers, ensuring service levels, performance, and availability are achieved while anticipating issues.

Handle the delivery of small changes, enhancements, and refresh activities. Ensure smooth transitions of new or changing services to live operations.

Communicate business and service delivery priorities to Global Infrastructure Services and suppliers. Validate business needs, solution integrity, and prioritize service requests using subject matter expertise from relevant QBE teams or suppliers.

Ensure incidents and problems for assigned services are managed effectively and efficiently. Conduct root cause analysis for high-impact service incidents and plan for the eradication of identified issues.

Manage the performance of key suppliers, ensuring they meet expectations and contribute to service excellence.

Facilitate production support and small change activity across the application portfolio with all vendors and internal teams

Promote adherence to QBE IT policies and practices, and raise issues where mis-aligned
About You

Skills you'll need:

SQL knowledge is essential; Power BI experience is a bonus!

Experience with LORS (preferred for the Reinsurance support role, but not required for the CAT Modelling role)

Great customer service skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively

Ability to resolve problems creatively and meet project deadlines

Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle and the ability to support requirements gathering and solution design

Self-starter with the ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams
-
Experience in multiple IT Service Management disciplines, ideally in a multi-supplier, multi-site, multicultural environment

Troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage performance and expectations with suppliers
