Job Summary:
IT Senior Manager maintains information technology strategies by managing staff and directing the implementation of technological solutions across diverse teams. Recommends and implements information technology strategies, policies, and procedures within the functional unit; participates in implementation across other functional units. A key focus of this position is managing and developing staff as well as the unit budget to achieve strategic department and team goals. The senior management position is defined by the depth and complexity of the areas of responsibility along with its strategic responsibilities for the company's success.
Primary Job Responsibilities: This role specializes in managing and coordinating all activities related to Security Operations within the Information Security Team:
- Maintains the organization's effectiveness and efficiency by supporting strategic plans for implementing and maintaining information technologies.
- Achieves financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action within the functional unit.
- Works with senior leadership to develop team goals and aligning them with department objectives.
- Leads or participates in problem management teams made up of senior engineering resources in solving high-complexity, high-impact enterprise issues.
- Leads threat intelligence and hunting activities to proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate potential security threats to the organization’s information systems.
- Formalizes and leads the management of the company’s incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring, detection, and response functions.
- Designs and executes comprehensive security operations capabilities including the partnership with the company’s third-party Managed Security Operations Center Service Provider (MSSP).
- Leads defining, improving, and maturing enterprise cyber incident response policies, procedures, and technical training for responders to ensure the efficient and effective resolution of cyber incidents. Partners with the company’s third-party IR escalation provider.
- Oversees the end-to-end vulnerability management program including detection, assessment, and resolution of OS, software, configuration, and identity vulnerabilities.
- Establishes and distributes comprehensive operational metrics and reporting.
- Recruits, selects, coaches, and develops team leaders, engineers, and support staff within the IT department. Manages professional growth and development plans.
- Translates and champions IT strategy to functional unit.
- Conducts performance and professional development reviews per HR guidelines. Takes corrective actions, including Performance Improvement Plans or terminations, when necessary.
- Assists with defining enterprise IT policies and implementing procedures to ensure the protection of information assets.

Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (advanced degree preferred), or equivalent experience.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar certifications are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity roles within a corporate environment.
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 3 years, managing an enterprise Security Operations team.
- Expertise in security operations management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
- In-depth understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies, including network security, threat intelligence, endpoint security, application security, and cloud security. Knowledge of advanced persistent threats (APTs) and modern attack techniques.
- Ability to develop and maintain clear and concise cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Competent in assessing and mitigating risks by identifying potential security threats, analyzing their impact, and developing strategies to prevent or minimize damage while balancing business objectives.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across departments and cross-functional teams.
