Joining our local Scrum teams based in Athens, the successful candidate will work closely with domestic and international development teams on exciting and challenging projects!

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Azure Cloud Engineer to join our IT Operations team and take on a leadership role. This position is focused on guiding a team in managing Azure Cloud infrastructure, supporting deployments, and ensuring system reliability. If you are a hands-on expert in Microsoft Azure, have a passion for cloud technologies, and are eager to lead and mentor others, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the optimization of Azure Cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Oversee and handle incidents, problems, and change management processes.
• Guide the team in monitoring and ensuring system performance and uptime.
• Support and lead application deployments and CI/CD pipeline operations.
• Collaborate and coordinate efforts with development, project, and security teams.
• Develop and implement strategies for backup, disaster recovery, and security, while mentoring the team.
• Maintain and oversee the documentation of IT infrastructure.

• Azure Expertise: Strong knowledge of Azure services (VMs, Kubernetes, databases, monitoring, networking).
• IT Operations: Significant experience in hybrid environments, incident management, and troubleshooting.
• DevOps & Automation: Expertise in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Terraform), and scripting (PowerShell).
• Tools & Technologies: Proficiency with Apache Kafka, Azure Monitor, and Azure Cloud Shell.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Strong leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, a hands-on mentality, and fluent English communication.

General Responsibilities

• Ensure the team's work maintains operational efficiency, security compliance, and system optimization.
• Provide guidance, user support, and training to both team members and end users as needed.
• Oversee and ensure updates, patches, and performance tuning are effectively managed by the team.
