Octane is currently hiring an IT Operations Engineer I for their Irving, Texas office. This is an on-site role. This person will be responsible for providing senior technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Experience with on-boarding and off-boarding employees, isolating problems, and implementing solutions. You will work directly with the internal IT team, external vendors and manufacturers to discover and communicate technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and deploy Octane workstation fleet, both Windows PC and Apple MacBook using centralized MDM (Intune)
- Track workstation and equipment inventory and ensure reliable, 100% up-to-date inventory accuracy
- Support tier 1 helpdesk requests, triaging and reassigning tickets to higher tier support where necessary
- Enhance system, network, and application observability and telemetry
- Deliver engineering, technology, and process improvements related to security and compliance operations
- Participate in team’s after-hours on-call rotation
- Produce clear and readable documentation and maintain Octane’s library of knowledge base articles
- Participate in support “rounds” and proactively support users in the Irving office
- Setup and configure workstations with docks, external monitors, and keyboards and mice
- Support and manage conference room technology and provide assistance to users in advance of upcoming meetings
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience supporting end-users in a Helpdesk or deskside (hands-on) environment.
- Industry certifications demonstrating entry-level IT desktop support, such as CompTIA A+, Net+ or the equivalent
- Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting on Windows and Mac workstations
- Audio/visual setup experience using Zoom Rooms recommended
- Knowledge of basic cabling and wiring standards
- Troubleshooting of Windows and Apple laptop hardware
- Experience with IT asset management
