About the Role:
Are you a proactive, detail-oriented individual with an interest in IT Governance, Risk and Compliance? We are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join our team as an Access Certification Administrator. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and optimizing access certification processes within a dynamic and supportive team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyze access data to identify discrepancies, potential security risks, and compliance issues.

• Assist in conducting periodic reviews of user access rights to ensure that permissions are appropriate and align with job roles.

• Help guide users through the access certification process and resolve any related issues.

• Contribute to the requirements gathering and development of new access certifications.

• Contribute ideas for improving access certification processes and enhancing overall security posture.

Preferred Skills:

• Data Analysis: Basic proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, and the ability to interpret and present data findings.

• Verbal and Written Communication: Ability to clearly articulate findings, recommendations, and instructions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Critical Thinking: Adept at identifying and understanding the context of an issue and taking the appropriate steps to resolve it.

• Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles to assist in managing access certification cycles.

• Compliance Mindset: Commitment to following regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field with an expected graduation date of May 2026.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

Pay Range - Start:
$52,220.00
Pay Range - End:
$96,980.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
