Job Description
The Business Analyst is responsible for applying knowledge of business and technology to allow for the development of integrated solutions to resolve simple to medium technical and business issues. Serve as a liaison between internal and external customers and functional IT departments and/or development teams during the entire lifecycle of the project. Apply structured methodology in the creation of requirements from the business perspective, translated into easily understood formats that are acted upon by the various technical and/or development teams. Following BA principles and accepted methodologies, define the system and functional requirements of technical projects. Define specifications, Use Cases/User Stories, Requirement Traceability, and/or data models for development efforts and testing. Create detailed test cases and analyze results. May assess available technologies and recommend solutions to technical teams.

  • Apply in-depth professional experience and broad knowledge of both business and technology to analyze and develop integrated solutions to resolve simple to medium technical or business issues. Actively participate and interact with customers to understand business needs, identify the best solution, and architect/design the processes to meet the needs.
  • As the liaison between internal customers and functional IT departments during the initial phases of intricate development efforts for significant business initiatives, apply structured methodology in the creation of requirements from the business perspective, translated in to easily understood formats that are acted upon by the various technical teams in IT.
  • Using full knowledge of BA principles, defines the system and functional requirements of technical projects.
  • Define specifications (e.g. Use Case, User Stories, Requirements Traceability, etc.) and process models for development efforts and testing.
  • Using development specifications, review detailed test cases and analyze results.
  • Using multiple information gathering techniques, conduct facilitated sessions with customers to define detailed business requirements for solution development. Establish and maintain clear scope boundaries for the solution. Develop clear and concise functional requirements for the technical developers that are free from ambiguity to minimize rework and errors. Articulate to the clients the implications of implementing new technologies in the current business and technology framework. Recognize the business's needs and the implications of change. Formulate alternative solutions to satisfy business requirements.
  • Develop precise documentation of prioritized functional requirements that can directly be converted to test plans, use cases, and system conceptual designs to meet performance targets and development project plans.
  • Partner with architects, designers and other planners to assess current capabilities and identify high-level requirements.
  • Translate requirements and use cases to the designers, ensuring there is a clear and concise understanding of requirements. Review test conditions and expected results for product, performance and user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in quality management reviews as outlined in the project work plan, and in reviews of the designs, prototypes and other project work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements.
  • Write test cases and/or execute test cases for Systems Integration Testing or User Acceptance Testing that are aligned to the signed-off requirements. Review test conditions and expected results for product, performance, and user acceptance testing.
  • Review customer's test cases to ensure that test conditions are aligned to signed-off business requirements. Provide UAT support to customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The duties and responsibilities described above are the essential functions of the job. The qualifications below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in Technical Business Analyst capacity or equivalent position with an emphasis on requirements gathering, documentation and traceability, system/application implementation, or knowledge of software development (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
  • With working knowledge on MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and Visio.
  • Exposure to banking, financial services, or credit industry is preferred.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communications skills with a background in technical communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge business and technical environments, and ability to build professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical time sensitive objectives.


This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
