IT Business Analyst 2 - C10 - CHENNAI

The IT Business Analyst 2 is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
Responsibilities:

• Formulate and define systems scope and project objectives through research activities
• Analyze business client needs and document requirements by utilizing business analysis procedures and concepts
• Assess applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures or precedents
• Identify risk and consider business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
• Create and prepare reports, metrics and presentations
• Work as a team to accomplish objectives and define and make recommendations for enhancements
• Participate in validation and testing activities to identify system problems and perform other duties as assigned
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Experience in re-engineering, data analysis and project management support
• Knowledge of business systems and industry standards
• Demonstrated data analysis and intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Proven interpersonal skills to develop working relationships
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and approach work methodically with attention to detail
• Proven self-motivation to take initiative and master new tasks quickly

Education:

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in Capital Markets and Trading flow data for domain level documentation, Jira management and agile practices.
• If the resources are already in Citi, then expertise on QuickRecs (CSI 166330), Olympus (CSI 167969) will be an advantage.
• The BA will work with users/developers/ and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and assist customer with appropriate support in development and testing of recons before release in production.
• The BA will ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes by ensuring the requirements as per Finance, Business, Risk and Regulatory PMO are met 100% of the time at recon delivery.
• The BA should have the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and own the deliverables end-to-end vis-à-vis the plan submitted to the Regulators. They should be able to exercise independence of judgement and autonomy and act as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members throughout the SDLC. • Good documentation skills like BRD and FRDs
• Able to document and store artifacts for audits and other regulatory requirements

• Able to write queries to pull data from tables
• Skilled on Agile or Project Management principles

Essential

• Foundational knowledge of SQL or Unix shell scripting will be helpful

• Strong communications skills
• Candidate should be responsible for reporting to both business and technology senior management
• Need to work with stakeholders and keep them updated on developments, estimation, delivery and issues.
