Job Description

The Manager IS&T Network is responsible for overseeing the planning, directing, architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s (Children’s) network infrastructure for converged wired and wireless networks. This encompasses ensuring the security and efficiency of Children’s network systems, protecting the organization from modern-day threats while leveraging advanced technologies.

Experience

  • 8 years of experience in infrastructure operations management
  • 5 years of experience in Windows Server operating systems and infrastructure
  • 6 years of experience in current infrastructure systems/server management, including Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, multi-factor and federated environments, cloud solutions, VMware, Citrix, unified computing systems, backups, patching, anti-virus, Exchange, x86 hardware, SSO/SAML, Windows Server, storage area networks, interconnects, enterprise printing, management/monitoring tools, archiving technologies, load balancers, faxing, software-defined networking, data security management, and scripting
  • Experience in business continuance planning, disaster recovery, and disaster testing
  • Experience in environment change control, change management, and environment management
  • Experience in ITIL service management

Preferred Qualifications

·         Relevant certifications and training in Networking, Security+, or related

·         Major Incident Management (MIM)

·         Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification in IT Service Management

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    ·         Knowledge of networking technologies, with an understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, MPLS, VLANs, VXLANs, SD_WANs, WIFI, and network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, or related)

    ·         Knowledge of security technologies, firewalls (Cisco FTD, ASAs and Palo Alto), Segmentation (Macro and Micro), IDS/IPS, endpoint security solutions and SIEM tools, SASE (Zero Trust Networking).

    ·         Knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) with proficiency in managing cloud services and integrating them with on-premises network infrastructures.

    ·         Ability to enhance and maintain a stringent network monitoring program with people and technology (Example tools: SolarWinds, Extra hop, Splunk, Nagios, PRTG, Dynatrace, Cisco Nexus, or related.) with a focus to develop network AIOPs.

    ·         Fault Management and Troubleshooting expertise to quickly resolve network issues and lead critical (i.e. P1, Sev A, or related) events as a technical lead and event manager.

    ·         Familiarity with Network Function Virtualization (NFV), SD-WAN, 5G and the next generations of networking.

    ·         Strong leadership abilities with the capability to develop and guide team members and work with minimal day-to-day supervision.

    ·         Ability to accomplish information technology staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and initiating, coordinating, enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

    ·         Strong knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements, e.g., Payment Card Industry and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

    ·         Strong project management and agile skills.

    ·         Well-developed organizational, written communication, presentation and analytical skills.

    ·         Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative and executive staff, patient care teams, and business systems users.

    ·         Ability to be on call, as needed, to support Childrens 24/7 operations for issues and problem escalations.

    Job Responsibilities

    ·         Develops and implements scalable network architectures that meet the organizations needs while ensuring performance, reliability and security.

    ·         Establishes and enforces security policies and procedures to protect against cyber threats, including firewalls, vulnerability patching, network configurations, management and access (VPNs), segmentation (campus, data center, wireless, devices (medical and IoT, or related)

    ·         Stays current with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, implementing proactive measures to defend against attacks such as ransomware, DDoS and phishing.

    ·         Supports and maintains cloud network operations infrastructures (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud etc.) to ensure the integration with on prem and maintain network standards and security.

    ·         Develops and implements incident response plans to quickly address and mitigate network breaches and/or failures.

    ·         Maintains comprehensive documentation of network configurations, policies and procedures, providing regular reports to leadership on the network status, performance and security.

    ·         Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with IS&T Business Partners as well as Clinical and Business departments.

    ·         Builds and maintains assets and lifecycle management, supporting annual operating and capital budget planning cycles.

    ·         Builds and maintains service level agreements based on network services (service catalog).

    ·         Co-owns Data Cener Life Management (DCLM) with Infrastructure staff and leaders.

    ·         Monitors system performance, across all areas of responsibility, addressing failures and proactively initiating remediation. Including tracking and trending that is correlated to event and problem management.

    ·         Defines and manages formal checks and balance QA process for all aspects of network management.  This includes the Method of Procedures (MOPs), as well as staff productivity associated with identifying deficiencies in operations.

    ·         Manages, monitors, reports and optimizes service desk management (ITSM) for areas responsible in relation to Incident, Requests, Problems, and Changes.

    ·         Participates in P1 leadership escalation management.

    ·         Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team of network engineers and administrators including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.

    ·         Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, training employees, maintaining a safe and secure work environment, and developing personal growth opportunities.

    ·         Available 24/7 for issues and problem escalations.
