Through its relationship with CUSO Financial Services, LP (CFS) Workers Credit Union is seeking an Investment Solutions Associate to join their team in the Lunenburg, MA area.

Salary Range:
$55,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually
Compensation: The base pay of the budgeted range $55,000-$65,000. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Function: Responsible for providing coordinated sales and service support to our Investments & Planning Solutions (IPS) team, including direct and indirect communication with credit union members, prospects, and existing clients, in our efforts to identify and recommend individually tailored financial planning strategies utilizing appropriate investment and insurance products, available through our Broker Dealer, and solutions towards achieving our clients desired short-term and long-term financial goals.
Essential Duties:
- Assist the Program Manager, Financial Advisors, and credit union employees with efforts to promote IPS services, including the development and execution/delivery of marketing materials and campaigns, monthly newsletters and client communication pieces, and educational webinars/seminars and client appreciation events. This includes submitting materials for broker-dealer compliance approval prior to use.
- Drive activities related to referral generation by member facing groups. Determine effective staff training needs and focus discussions. Coordinate efforts, prepare reports, and track results. Communicate with branches to review referral submissions. Advise branches regarding the progress and results of any referrals. Meet and/or communicate with clients in the absence of the Financial Advisor.
- Provide administrative sales support for the IPS in-branch Financial Advisors, including follow-up with existing clients, accurately completing client paperwork and data input, and other administrative tasks as needed. Process client trade transactions as requested possibly including selection of funds for redemption.
- Handle routine client inquiries; effectively working with the back-office support personnel at vendors and broker-dealer to ensure a high degree of quality service and client satisfaction.
- Help prospect for new clients and ascertain the potential needs of these clients. Proactively make outbound calls to members identified as potential leads, and to existing clients from advisors’ book of business.
- Conduct all business, while protecting the confidentiality of information, by following rules and regulations set forth by the Credit Union, your Program Manager, the broker-dealer, FINRA, the SEC and other regulatory agencies. Capture relevant client data and informational notes, along with appropriate documents in the client contact record on the broker-dealer digital advisor platform.
- Maintain a current knowledge of investment products and services offered through the IPS, as well as other products and services offered by the credit union. Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the financial industry and of the domestic and global economies.
- Provide high quality service in all interactions with customers, prospective clients, and personnel in other departments of the credit union.
- Act as the liaison between the client, broker/dealer operations and compliance, and the vendor to resolve pending issues including but not limited to systematic withdrawals, investment changes, and account updates/corrections. Resolve “Back to Rep.” issues from the broker-dealer OSJ regarding client accounts and forward all other issues to the Financial Advisors.
- Explore opportunities among un-assigned book of business. Identify and evaluate potential needs for financial services. Promote financial advisors and IPS services to schedule qualified financial planning appointments. Incorporate “The Workers Way” program by making introductions to the Relationship Managers and branch employees when other credit union products and services may be appropriate.
- Be the initial point of contact of the department by answering calls or chats from credit union employees, members, and clients on inquiries or requests for assistance from IPS.
- Support the production of Financial Advisor(s) by answering customers questions and describing investment products and services, as well as performing tasks of a clerical and administrative nature, including the preparation and processing of correspondences and communications for IPS staff.
- Schedule appointments and prepare materials for client meetings. Review and enter notes from completed meetings.
- Provide regular feedback to management to help improve workflow processes and levels of service.
- Regularly demonstrates behaviors as defined by the credit union’s Fundamentals, which are part of the Workers Wisdom culture program.
- Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of administrative office experience in a financial service or sales environment. Solid knowledge of mutual fund operations, procedures, transfers and general workings of both transfer houses and fund-direct companies. Sales-oriented, strong work ethic and self –motivated. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Series 6, 63, and MA Life, Accident & Health insurance licenses are desired. Proficiency with personal computer applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. HS diploma or equivalent.
Physical Activities/Requirements:
- Able to communicate orally with co-workers and members. Able to operate computer keyboard and other office machines that require finger dexterity and repetitive motion. Visual acuity necessary to prepare/inspect documents. Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Sedentary work, sitting most of the time. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel to branch locations and occasional off-site travel for business purposes.
