Job Summary:
Group 1001 Innovations is seeking an Investment Associate to join the team. The Investment Associate will support the origination, structuring and oversight of investments across a broad variety of industries, including, but not limited to, financial services, real estate, technology and sports, media and entertainment. The Investment Associate will gain experience to a multitude of asset classes, including, but not limited to, structured credit, asset-backed lending, venture debt and private equity. This individual will work cross-functionally with various teams across the organization.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Originate investment opportunities by establishing and maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs, intermediaries, and other investors
- Perform surveillance of existing investments, including reviewing performance reports and third-party research, following news and developments, interacting with internal/external subject matter experts, and advising portfolio companies
- Develop and analyze financial models, including investment scenario analyses
- Perform due diligence and conduct market research for potential investments
- Prepare marketing presentations, term sheets and analysis of emerging industries and novel asset classes, as well as reports and materials for internal and external consumption
- Maintain investment files, which include providing memorandums for initial transaction approval, periodic written commentary, updated cashflows and analytics for existing investments
Skills & experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic track record
- 3+ years of related work experience in investment banking, private credit or private equity
- Experience with financial statement evaluations and cash flow modeling
- Strong quantitative skills; Microsoft Excel modeling experience required
- Familiarity with legal documents
- High level of analytical, strategic, and lateral thinking; attention to detail and precision
- Strong executive presence with skills in presentation development and professional writing
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of projects by acting as project manager as well as working in a “hands-on” capacity
- Personal drive and determination; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $160,000/year in our highest geographic market plus bonus. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
