Investment Accounting Lead – Cigna Investment Management (CIM) Foundational Upgrade Project

Role Summary

This role serves as a project lead for the CIM Foundational Upgrade Project, which is a multi-year initiative focused on modernizing the platforms and processes that support the CIM organization.  This position will work with investment accounting subject matter experts to represent the function with external vendors and internal stakeholders to promote an efficient and controlled transition.  The ideal candidate must use independent judgment and discretion to meet project milestones, identify key issues, and provide recommendations or highlights to senior management. 

Major Duties

Position will manage or support various project functions, including:

  • Current and future state process flow documentation.
  • Business requirements compilation coordination and documentation.
  • Risk and issue identification including a detailed control assessment and mitigation strategy.
  • Transition planning, monitoring and governance including development of training plans, user documentation and readiness assessment
  • User acceptance testing.
  • Change management documentation

Qualifications

  • Motivated, proactive self-starter who takes ownership and is results oriented
  • Ability to learn quickly and problem solve while working independently and as a team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BS with concentration in accounting or related field (finance, project management)
  • Six or more years of accounting/finance experience
  • Project management experience is highly desirable
  • Investment accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a matrix reporting environment
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate financial results
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to work during off-peak hours as necessary to meet project deadlines and during key reporting periods
  • Computer skills are essential

This position supports Cigna Investments, Inc., an investment adviser registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).  The successful candidate will become an Access Person of CII required to comply with the personal trading requirements and restrictions contained in CII’s Code of Ethics.  These requirements and restrictions apply to the Access Person and all securities transactions in accounts in which an Access Person has a Beneficial Interest


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
