Job Description
Your Role:
The Internal Sales Manager will be responsible for directing the sales activities for all Internal Sales Desk roles, including call monitoring, sales presentations, phone logs, and general business activities. The Internal Sales Manager will lead the staffing, training and development, and coaching efforts for all roles on the Internal Sales Desk.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead the staffing (recruiting, interviewing, and hiring), training and development, and coaching efforts for all roles on the Internal Sales Desk
- Develop, design and deliver ongoing training programs for the internal sales professionals on products, competitor knowledge, fundamentals of finance, presentation skills training, effective sales techniques, goal setting, and territory management
- Assist internal sales professionals in executing firm-wide initiatives, including annual business plan goals, new product campaigns, and other marketing tactics geared toward raising assets
- Plan, organize, and lead regular department staff meetings
- Work with senior management to maintain effective coverage of clients, in conjunction with external salesforce
- Develop and maintain contacts within the mutual funds industry, particularly with competitor internal sales desks
- Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics and standards for the desk
- Serve as the liaison between the Internal Sales Desk and other business partners across Invesco (e.g., Investments, Product, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, etc.)
- Manage the budget for the Internal Sales Desk, including T&E plans and expenditures, to ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to achieve the business plan
- Complete special projects related to initiatives and ongoing sales efforts
The experience you bring:
- 7-10 years of financial industry experience, at least 5 years within the mutual fund industry
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Technical investment expertise, including superior knowledge of mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs and their competitive landscape, and in-depth understanding of Capital Markets and the impact of economic factors
- Strong knowledge of investments and financial sales process
- Consultative, client first approach, delivering solutions, not products, to meet client needs and drive results.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish and maintain a productive working relationship with Internal Sales Desk teams and key internal partners
- Excellent problem-solving and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- A digital and data-driven mindset, including the adoption of technologies that improve the overall client experience
- Strong work ethic, high integrity, and strong values
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (MBA, CFA, CFP, and/or CIMA a plus)
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensing exams
- FINRA Series 24 and 51 licensing exams preferred (or must obtain within firm-defined time period)
