The Internal Sales Consultant within the Institutional Business Development team provides collaborative support for the Institutional Business Development team that is focused on selling selective and full outsourcing partnerships. This role maintains and proactively updates pipeline reporting and provides prospect research.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Help to identify and qualify institutional prospects
- Partner with Institutional Business Development, Corporate Development and Marketing to develop lists of appropriate prospects
- Perform and outline detailed research on institutional prospects
- Ability to learn multiple platform/product solutions
- Collaborate with the institutional marketing team to promote selective and full outsourcing capabilities
- Assist Institutional Business Development to track and report on sales and marketing activities
- Coordinate and assist with responses to RFPs and SDRs as needed
- Collaborate with internal resources to track and report on institutional business across business lines
- Team-oriented, collaborative approach including partnering with executive leadership
- Develop trusted relationships internally and externally
- Attend company and industry conferences
- Understand marketplace trends, ensure Ascensus is appropriately positioned
- Strong knowledge of key competitors
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Driven to win: pro-active and self-motivated
- Remain current on industry, technical and product knowledge
- Complete management reports, expense reports and other special tasks as requested
- Support and partner with the operations and product leaders to empower efficient processes to develop and deliver exceptional products and partner solutions
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our partners.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the retirement plan industry
- Proven successful sales experience of retirement plan recordkeeping and administrative services
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, unsupervised environment
- Strong, in-depth ERISA and retirement plan knowledge
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
