CLA is looking for a dynamic, relational, tech savvy Internal Finance Controller who can optimize our existing finance function and build for the future of our multi-billion-dollar partnership. 

This role will report directly to our Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for leading the Financial Operations of CLA, including core accounting, financial reporting, payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payable, partnership taxation, systems optimization and more.  The Internal Finance Controller is responsible for leading, developing and managing a team of employees across the CLA footprint with a view of maintaining an effective and robust internal control structure.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and coordinates the preparation of financial statements and filings in compliance with reporting requirements, including general ledger maintenance.

• Manage services with active and retired owners related to reporting and distributions.

• Oversee tax compliance for partnership income tax filings, sales/use tax filings, personal property taxes, etc.

• Facilitate and oversee the preparation of the annual Wealth Advisory broker-dealer external audit.

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies and standards over accounting, internal controls and general finance operations.

• Leverage emerging technologies to simplify and automate the day-to-day operations of the finance organization (Tableau, Alteryx, Artificial Intelligence, etc.).

• Partner with key financial institutions to manage credit and treasury management solutions.

• Ensure international operations are effectively reported.

• Evaluate the existing finance team structure and plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness across CLA.

Job Qualifications:

• Great “can-do/self-starter” attitude

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field/

• CPA is highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.

• Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).

• Travel: 15% (includes non-local or overnight travel for training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes).
