The Internal Communications team is part of the global Corporate Communications department, which works closely with Marketing & Business Development (M&BD). This role will help lead key internal communications initiatives and play a strategic role in helping shape and deliver communications that align with the firm's strategy, culture, and vision. The Internal Communications Manager will work closely with the Office of the CEO on a wide range of communications—both internal and, at times, external—ensuring alignment with the CEO’s voice and messaging priorities.
The Internal Communications Manager will have a proven track record of developing and executing internal communications and employee engagement events or activities, including experience in a multifaceted organization of similar size and complexity. The position requires a strong strategic mindset, outstanding writing skills, and the ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders across the firm. The ideal candidate will have a keen ability to adapt messaging for various audiences, ensuring communications are clear, compelling, and aligned with the firm's global brand and culture.
The position will be located in our New York office and report to the Global Head of Corporate Communications, who is also based in New York.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop high-profile internal communications efforts in partnership with the Chief Communications Officer, Global Head of Corporate Communications, and Senior Manager of Internal Communications, ensuring alignment with the firm’s brand, strategy, and leadership priorities.
- Work closely with the Office of the CEO to develop and refine key messages, ensuring consistency and capturing the CEO’s voice across multiple communication channels.
- Help lead on and execute internal communications strategies that drive employee engagement and reinforce the firm’s strategic priorities.
- Create and adapt compelling written content that resonates across various formats (e.g., executive emails, intranet articles, speeches, talking points, and video scripts), demonstrating versatility in tone and style for different leadership voices.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders across business functions, including members of senior leadership, HR, and other corporate teams, to ensure a cohesive and strategic approach to internal communications.
- Help oversee key internal communication channels, including the firm’s intranet, newsletters, digital screens, and employee engagement platforms, ensuring content is relevant, timely, and engaging.
- Help drive planning and execution of firmwide internal engagement events, including virtual town halls, employee forums, and leadership meetings.
- Bring creative and innovative approaches to internal communications, enhancing storytelling techniques, and leveraging digital tools to increase engagement.
- Ensure that all internal communications reflect the brand and culture of the firm, both in content and tone
- Manage the day-to-day collaboration with the Office of the CEO, Internal Communications team, advising and contributing content for our various content streams
- Act as an ambassador for the internal communications team and the wider Corporate Communications function
- Support major ad-hoc projects
- Help bring creative approaches to a results-driven organization

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to craft substantive internal communications and execute in a timely manner
- Flexible writing style with experience in shifting style and tone for various audiences
- Ability to cut through complexity to deliver a simple message that is heard, understood, and motivates people throughout the organization
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, engaging messages
- Highly organized, detail-oriented professional with outstanding follow-through skills and proven sound judgment
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables while coordinating multiple projects
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience in navigating a matrixed organization
- Diplomatic and comfortable in handling sensitive issues with internal clients
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative, and a ready source of new ideas and ways of making things happen

- Proficiency in utilizing Office 365 tools (Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel), as well as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, or equivalent design software
- Willingness to build a solid technical knowledge of systems and processes used by the team
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of internal communications experience preferred
- Experience in a law firm or large, complex, multinational professional services environment preferred
- Previous experience on intranet sites and publishing systems required
- Experience organizing and leading firmwide internal events (e.g., virtual town halls) desirable
- Proven experience working with executive leadership, with the ability to capture and refine the voice of senior leaders, desirable
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field or equivalent combination of education & experience
HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch. Must be flexible to work additional hours as needed.
The annualized salary range for this position is $122,700 to $145,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, full-time employees as well as some part-time employees, will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exist.
