The mission of the Internal Audit department is to provide independent and objective assurance on DEME’s risk management, governance and internal control processes.
Within DEME, the Internal Audit team conducts audit engagements following a risk-based audit plan and reports the result of these assessments to the Audit as well as the Executive Committee.
Under the supervision of the Internal Audit Director, you execute the different audit engagement steps: preparation, audit fieldwork and reporting.Your responsibilities

Perform audits on projects, entities and corporate supporting departments

Assess internal control systems and business processes by performing tests to ensure that risk mitigating controls are effective. When doing this, you develop clear, concise, and well-organized test work papers. You draft clear and concise internal audit findings that identify root causes and provide value to the organisation.

Follow up with management on the implementation of corrective actions

Contribute and share best practices across DEME;

Additionally, you will be able to provide internal advisory services to management on controls, procedures and guidelines.
Your profile

You have a Master’s degree in economics (or equal) with at least 7 years of experience in auditing.

You are fluent in English (written & spoken) and knowledge of any other language is an asset

You are flexible and willing to travel internationally for short periods of time: assignments typically take two weeks with total travel that can amount up to 30%

You recognize yourself in the following traits: customer service oriented, detailed, organized, diplomatic, critical, good communicator and proactive

You are a team player with very strong work ethics and always act by example. You can work independently and are not afraid to take initiatives

You combine a passion for facts and figures with excellent analytical skills, therefore you are an expert in Excel. Experience in D365 and/or PowerBI are considered a plus

You have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism

You have an international passport and have a valid European driving license to drive a car
